Members can check out most items in the MBS Library collection at our monthly meeting
The society maintains a sizable library of books and instructional DVDs for member use. The collection has been fully cataloged online. Members can explore the many aspects of bonsai and related topics. The materials will be available for check-out during most monthly program meetings. You can also contact the librarian and request a book or DVD that you find interesting.

Please contact the MBS librarian, Gary Schwochau, at the monthly Program Meetings or at gary.schwochau@minnesotabonsaisociety.org with any questions or requests.
The guidelines for checking out library materials are:
- You must be a MBS member in good standing.
- The librarian may ask for a security deposit (cash, check or credit card) worth the value of the materials being checked out.
- Deposits will be held until the next month’s program meeting. If you are unable to return the materials by the next meeting, you will be contacted to arrange their return. If they are not returned in 2 months, the security deposit will be deposited so that replacement materials can be purchased.
- The librarian may decline a check-out at the librarian’s discretion.
Donations to the library are always deeply appreciated! If you find a book that you feel would be good addition, please feel free to contact the MBS librarian.
